PNG Sustainable Energy Limited was established as a PNGSDP joint venture with Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation (SMEC). In May 2009, agreements were executed for the major Australian company Origin Energy Limited to purchase the share of assets in PNG Sustainable Energy Ltd previously owned by SMEC.
